Emergency Response Campaign for the People Affected by the Massive Earthquake in Türkiye and Syria

The overall goal and objectives of the project:

Providing an emergency response to people affected by the earthquake in northwestern Syria and Turkey, by distributing medical supplies to hospitals and medical points, and distributing relief food baskets and hygiene materials within the project areas.

Coordination and supervision in Turkey:

Maram Foundation supervised the receipt of relief shipments from Gaziantep Airport in coordination with the Turkish local authorities and distributed some relief trucks in coordination with the delegation of the King Salman Center for Relief and Humanitarian Action in the areas affected by the earthquake in:
Antakya – Reyhanli – Reformation – Nordag – Kahramanmaraş – Pazardik – Adıman

THE SUMMARY OF PROJECT

Maram Foundation will be keen to provide an urgent emergency response to the people affected by the devastating earthquake that struck northwestern Syria within Aleppo Governorate.

That is, all the areas affected by the earthquake within the project area: Aleppo: Azaz – Jenderes – Afrin – Soran, where, through this project, Maram Foundation will work to provide logistical services from receiving shipments, transportation, storage and distribution.

Maram Foundation will receive 7 shipments loaded with medical supplies, food baskets, shelter bags, relief tents, blankets (large and small) and hygiene materials, as this aid was received from the Saudi relief plane.

Maram Foundation will be responsible for the process of transportation, storage, and distribution of these materials to the directly affected beneficiaries and to the medical points (hospitals, clinics, medical facilities) within the project areas.

Where the medical materials supplied will be utilized through their use in clinics and medical points, and this will be in coordination with the region’s Health Directorate.

Thus, through this project, Maram will seek to provide an emergency response to about 20,000 affected people in the targeted locations

20,000 people in total: (3,500 men – 3,900 women – 6,400 boys – 6,200 girls)

ACTIVITIES:

Providing an emergency response to 4,000 families / 20,000 people affected by the earthquake in northwestern Syria, by distributing medical materials to hospitals and medical points, distributing food baskets, shelter bags, relief tents, blankets (large and small) and hygiene materials within the project areas, as follows:

  • Equipping 7 large trucks to transport medical, relief and food materials from Gaziantep to the Bab al-Salama crossing, Syria, in order to provide an emergency response to 20,000 affected people.
  • Equipping 20 small trucks to transport medical, relief and food materials from the Bab al-Salama crossing, Syria, to the warehouse in order to provide an emergency response to 20,000 affected people.
  • Providing and hiring workers for loading and unloading (25 workers).
  • Providing and renting one warehouse in Syria in order to store the received materials.

Distribution of medical supplies (according to the attached table of quantities) to hospitals and medical points (5 medical points) in the region as follows:

  • Distribution fo 5 medical points in Aleppo / Azaz, Jenderes, Afrin and Suran.
  • Distribution of 324 food parcels to 324 families most affected by the earthquake within the areas of the project.
  • Distribution of 1,692 hand soap packages to 846 of the most affected families within the project areas (two packages per family).
  • Distribution of 384 shelter bags to 384 families most affected by the earthquake within the areas of the project.
  • Distribution of 545 relief tents for 545 families most affected by the earthquake within the areas of the project.
  • Distributing 480 large-scale blankets to 480 families most affected by the earthquake within the areas of the project.
  • Distribution of 84 small-scale blankets to 84 families most affected by the earthquake within the areas of the project.
