Camp Coordination Camp Management CCCM

Maram Foundation, CCCM GUIDE.

What is CCCM?

Camp Coordination and Camp Management – CCCM program seeks to improve the living conditions of displaced persons living in camps or camp-like settings, by guaranteeing that populations are protected and have equitable access to basic services.

Why CCCM?

The broader humanitarian community recognizes that camps and communal settlements are not the ultimate solutions, but the last resort. However, it is paramount to ensure that camp standards uphold the basic needs of life, safety, and dignity during displacement.

CCCM interventions take a holistic approach to upholding basic human rights and ensuring access to humanitarian assistance to displaced persons, whilst actively seeking long-term solutions and preparing populations for life after displacement.

CCCM MISSION

CCCM deals with how effective coordination and comprehensive management work to improve the quality of life of IDPs both in times of transit and for life after displacement. The central mission of CCCM is to ensure that protection and assistance programs in camps and camp-like settings meet the standards ascribed by international laws, by providing effective management and coordination of humanitarian assistance and services within camp settings. Effective CCCM works to increase accountability; mobilize camp residence; identity and correct gaps in services; support transparency and information sharing, and finally support timely interventions by humanitarian actors.
