Position: GBV Specialist(Turkish nationality)

Summary and Organization Relation:

The GBV Specialist will be responsible the plan and execute effective deployment of GBV programming to support quality case management, psychosocial support and empowerment activities for vulnerable women, girls, and GBV survivors. The GBV Specialist will be responsible for managing and overseeing the activities associated with supporting the provision of holistic care for survivors of GBV, case management, referrals for specialized health care, psychosocial support, and risk reduction. The GBV Specialist will ensure application of effective program planning, identify bottlenecks in prevention and response, and devise strategies to address them.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

Job Description of GBV specialist:

  • Managing the time, structuring individual sessions beside to running and supervising case management meetings.
  • Revising and updating capacity building plans during both, individual sessions and during case management meetings once it is needed. Beside to making sure everyone has the chance to participate in case management meetings.
  • Attending sub-cluster and GBVs meetings.
  • Informing specialized service provider with the latest updates of sub-cluster.
  • following up the cases and their progress, beside to supporting case managers when it is needed.
  • Provide technical support while preparing project proposals.
  • Submitting monthly reports regarding specialized services to donors.
  • Helping case managers to document success stories and their requirements with consideration of taking beneficiaries’ consent in order to publish these stories.
  • Conducting technical assessment for case managers according to HR policy.
  • Follow up the documentation of case managers electronically and in paperwork.
  • Providing individual counseling and support for case managers. In addition to helping them to apply self and staff care plans, which is prepared by the GBV specialist.
  • Conducting workshops for humanitarian actors to contribute in protection mainstreaming.
  • Assessing training needs for safe space staff and conducting capacity building trainings for case managers regarding to GBV and protection in general.
  • Updating referral pathway and service mapping.
  • Arranging periodically supervisory technical sessions with case managers, which includes cases’ Discussion whether they are individual or group, and submitting periodic reports.
  • Supporting, following up and supervising case managers, beside to preparing documents and Reports in a professional way.
  • Providing technical support for case managers and facilitators during implementing mitigation Services activities.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors in Gender studies, Development Studies, Social Sciences, or any other related discipline from a recognized Institution.
  • At least 3 years‟ hands-on experience in gender-based programming is a must.
  • Excellent Non-formal educational skills.
  • Excellent report writing skills in English and Arabic.
  • Excellent Microsoft Office skills.
  • Able to collaborate effectively with staff and stakeholders.
