"Nawaf," a Syrian refugee, recounts his suffering from the war and the earthquake

He fondly remembers his homeland, where he once felt safe among his family and relatives. However, he was forced to move as a result of the ongoing war. He summarized his wishes by saying: “I felt safe among my family and relatives there.” Despite the extremely challenging conditions in the refugee camp where he lived, he remains resilient.

“Nawaf” continues to share the events that unfolded for him and his family on the night of the earthquake, which led to displacement and the search for shelter. His children, who suffered during the earthquake, developed psychological scars as a result.

Regarding the assistance provided by Maram, he says, “I heard from my relatives that the Maram Foundation is offering cash assistance to earthquake victims. I registered and received the aid, which helped cover our accumulated rent.”

He concludes his message with a prayer for those reading his story: “May Allah alleviate our suffering and the suffering of all His servants.”

A Story of Hope and Rebuilding After the Earthquake

It’s worth noting that Maram assisted nearly 1,000 people in the direct cash support project, targeting earthquake survivors in the provinces of Karaman Marash, Hatay, Gaziantep, and Şanlıurfa. A total of 13,000 Turkish lira was provided as assistance to the affected individuals in two phases.

Maram’s work to help earthquake victims is essential. It is providing much-needed relief to people who have lost everything.
