  • Maram Foundation is a non-profit organization registered in Turkey. Maram is dedicated to providing assistance to refugees and internally displaced persons (IDPs) since the beginning of the Syrian Crisis in 2011.

    MF works to provide assistance to the lives of people affected by armed conflict and other situations of violence. We aim to provide cross-sectoral collaborative and sustainable initiatives that bridge humanitarian assistance and development according to the needs of communities living inside and outside Syria.

    Responsibilities & Tasks:

    Program planning and organization:

    • Conduct field protection monitoring visits to ensure action plans set out are followed.
    • Review and evaluate the partners’ protection/GBV/CP technical approaches and provide recommendations to improve those approaches.
    • Support team to develop and strengthen Child Protection and GBV service mapping and referral systems.
    • To ensure activities are up to international and organizational standard and results are in line with project objectives and outcomes.
    • Represent the organization in clusters and sub-clusters.
    • Provide technical support to protection team.
    • Consolidate protection training plan in collaboration with Program Coordinator – and support the conduct of regular training activities.
    • Coordinate planning and following up of logistical and administrative arrangements for trainings and ensure an efficient resource utilization and close cooperation between project team, as well as all involved stakeholders.
    • Ensure shared files are updated with finalized documents, including training plans and reports.
    • Develop a planning matrix for activity implementation as outlined in project proposals and input from various field teams.
    • Prepare meetings, workshops and follow up on the successful implementation of protection related events.
    • Provide orientation to key protection staff members so in their turn they could orient newly recruited staff on program tools and activities.
    • Follow up on the implementation of activities and report challenges to the Program Coordinator.
    • Attend the relevant department coordination meetings.

    Reporting

    Review the protection related sections within partner’s monthly progress reports.

    • Consolidate/draft monthly and quarterly reports, and donor updates.
    • Compiling results analysis and other statistical tasks if required for reporting.
    • Assist the Program Coordinator and MEAL Manager in consolidation of the data related to indicators and highlight any irregularities.

    Requirements (Persons Specifications):

    • Turkish National or other nationalities with authorization to work in Türkiye.
    • University degree in international relations/development, social science, law, psychology, or another related field; MA/S or other related advanced degree preferred.
    • Minimum of 3 years (of which at least 2 years in the field) of professional experience in humanitarian work, preferably in an emergency context.
    • Substantial experience in Protection, both overall Protection and in sub-sectors of Child Protection, GBV, including with IDPs and refugees.
    • Demonstrable technical expertise in the assessment of, design, and delivery of relevant Protection/GBV/CP programming.
    • Good experience in training and capacity building on Protection/GBV/CP technical areas with a variety of stakeholders.
    • Experience with participatory approaches and working with vulnerable groups, including gender mainstreaming and with persons with disabilities.
    • Good knowledge and understanding of Humanitarian Principles and Protection GBV/CP frameworks, tools, and minimum standards.
    • A good command of verbal and written English experience working in and an understanding of the non-profit sector and/or an association setting preferred.
    • Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communications skills.
    • Strong organizational, able to exercise sound judgment and proactive problem-solver.
    • Autonomous, creative with ability to work with limited resources.
    • Demonstrated ability to work in a multicultural environment, prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and ensure high quality work.
    • Good knowledge and understanding of Humanitarian Principles and Protection frameworks, tools, and minimum standards.
    • Computer literacy with demonstrated experience in utilization of databases, Microsoft Office, Excel
